2025 is shaping up to be a packed year for the gaming industry. Some heavy hitters are coming along with smaller gems we can’t wait to dive into. Here are a few upcoming games you might need to keep tabs on for the Xbox Series X/S platform.
#65 Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
Memory and promises have a unique impact on people, and sometimes, they are the two things that can shape a group of people’s lives forever. In Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, you’ll play Swann and her friends across two different periods of their lives. As you jump between 1997 and 2022, you’ll start to unravel a mystery and set of secrets that this group of friends must remember if they’re ever to move past what happened during one particularly memorable summer.
As you work your way through the mystery, your interactions will determine how certain relationships go, and whether you’ll learn all the answers you need to.
#64 Medic: Pacific War
Whether it’s on Xbox or another console entirely, you’ll see plenty of war games trying to get your attention. However, with Medic: Pacific War, you’ll find yourself in a much different position, as you won’t be a soldier; you’ll be a medic instead.
That’s right, instead of trying to take lives, you’ll be tasked with saving your fellow comrades from the battlefield and tending to their wounds as best you can.
As the battles grow more intense, you’ll get conflicting orders about who to save and what to do next. You’ll need to make your own choices so that you can save as many lives as possible, and not just the ones that some feel are “more deserving” than others.
#63 Retrieval
You are Hana Loshe, and you were given what was supposed to be a simple mission on a remote planet. However, you soon find yourself in an oddly futuristic subway base of some kind, and you’re determined to lead your team into it to see what it holds. However, the further you dive inside, the more you’ll wish that you had never set foot into it.
The base you find yourself in has many threats that you’ll have to face, and all the while, you’ll learn more about your team, which could save or doom you in the long run.
Do you think you can make it out alive?
#62 Ark 2
It’s bad enough that people sometimes wake up in a world they’re unfamiliar with and wonder how they got there. But when that world is full of dangers, dinosaurs, and people who look like Vin Diesel? Yeah, they’re going to have lots of questions that need answering.
Your journey inARK 2is about answers and figuring out not only what happened to you but also what the deal is with the world you landed on. Massive expanses await you, as do plenty of characters who will either support you or try to take you out.
Which one is Vin Diesel? Well, we know he’s a guy who likes family…
#61 The Alters
They say that at times, you have no one to trust but yourself. In The Alters, you’ll quickly find out just how realistic that phrase can be, even if it is due to some sci-fi shenanigans.
You play Jan, a man who is trapped on a planet by himself and has to figure out a way to get off it. The tasks he must do cannot be accomplished by one man, so he’ll use a special device to bring in variations of himself from the timeline that have done different things and, thus, are different from who he is now.
He must work with these “Alters” to save himself while also learning how to live with the choices he has and hasn’t made.
#60 ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders is very much a co-op shooter where you must work together in order to survive.
You play as a group of raiders on a planet that has a robot problem. By that, we mean that there are robots constantly dropping from the sky with the intent to wipe out you and your whole squad. You’ll need to load up and stick together in order to survive. Don’t go off on your own, that’ll only get you killed faster.
When you’re not fighting these beings from the sky, you’ll go and explore the world, find new items and artifacts to help you in your fight, and learn more about where you are.
How long you survive in this game is very much up to you.
#59 Atomfall
Not all post-apocalyptic games are meant to be “dark and depressing.” Some are honestly meant to be looks into how certain areas would change when a certain kind of event befalls them. For example, in Atomfall, you’ll see what would happen to Great Britain if history had changed a little bit and a nuclear disaster had been averted in our world…actually went ahead and caused serious changes to the landscape and its people.
You’ll start the game five years after the disaster, meaning that you’ll have to find out what’s going on while you’re trying to survive. With rival groups, monsters, and other surprises awaiting you, this won’t be an easy thing.
#58 Bleach: Rebirth of Souls
With the new anime showing exactly why fans love this series after all these years, the adventures of Ichiro Kurosagi haven’t ended quite yet. With Bleach: Rebirth of Souls, his journey returns to the video game space via this 3D fighter!
In it, you’ll pick your favorite Soul Reaper or villain and clash with others in intense conflicts. The game is built around the concept of making each strike count, so you’ll need to be patient while being unrelenting with your power.
Plus, true to its anime aesthetic, you’ll have the ability to unlock new characters, forms, and abilities that could change the tide of battle in your favorite! Do you think you can come out on top?
#57 Carmen Sandiego
Are you ready to save the day as one of the greatest thieves around? Naturally, we’re talking about the one and only Carmen Sandiego! She’ll get a new game in 2025 that is a tribute to all that came before, while also paying homage to the new version that is on Netflix. As such, you’ll travel around the world and attempt to capture the various criminals of the organization VILE. You’ll need to use your thief and investigative skills to get the job done and show that no one is better than Carmen Sandiego.
The world is your oyster, so go and ensure no one steals it.
#56 Chrono Odyssey
So, let’s talk aboutChrono Odyssey. The title is powered by Unreal Engine 5 to deliver cutting-edge graphics that will show off the world of Setera like nothing else out there.
While the world might seem like your typical MMORPG fair, you’ll soon realize how much it’s not. The timeline of this world is clashing with others, causing multiple threats to appear and challenges warriors like yourselves. You’ll need to fight your way through this world and figure out how to stop these contradictions from happening.
What will you make of yourself in this MMORPG?
#55 Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
While it may be true that every year of life is marked with death, in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the death of many more comes with each year that passes. There is a “Paintress” who paints a number on a tree, and all who are that age die on the spot, and that number counts down every year. With the population and hope to die with each rotation, a bold group aims to kill the Paintress before another number can be put on her cursed tree.
You’ll travel through the land, gain allies, and find out the truth behind past attempts to stop her. Everything is riding on your party; don’t let the world down.
#54 Copa City
You might not realize it, but when an event like the World Cup of Football, the REAL football, comes to a country, it’s a mad sprint to ensure that everyone and everything is set up properly for what’s about to happen. There are stadiums that need to be built, access to the event has to be smooth, you need to have plenty of businesses and stalls to get the people what they need during the matches and so on.
In Copa City, you’ll be the one in charge of making that happen, and it won’t be easy. Build to impress, build to last, and most importantly, build so that the event goes off without a hitch!
#53 Crimson Desert
If you haven’t noticed by now, there are just as many multiplayer games on this list as there will be single-player ones. Crimson Desert puts you in the realm of Pywel, where a constant state of turmoil and uncertainty allows mercenaries like yourself to rise up and get glory and riches.
You’ll trash the harsh lands looking for work and team up with other players to take on the challenges you come across. The fight for survival is the most important thing, and so no matter what beast or man that stands against you, you strike them down so you can get to your next fight.
Do you have what it takes to live here?
#52 Delta Force
While we’ve shown you lots of games that play things fast and lose with reality, it should be noted that some try and play by the “rules of the real world” more times than not. Many people love that because it makes them feel like real soldiers and operators.
Delta Forceis one such game that will let players “load up” and get out onto the battlefield with friends and allies to take on dangerous forces. The game is available for sign-up now, and when it drops, you’ll have numerous options and missions to participate in.
Besides squad combat, you can get into vehicles and blow stuff up.
#51 Directive 8020
They say that in space, no one can hear you scream, but what if you’re within a colony ship in space? Wouldn’t that change the dynamic? In Directive 8020, the latest episode of a certain horror anthology, you are part of a colony craft that heads to a new planet where humanity might be able to survive.
However, everything goes wrong when the ship crash lands, and you soon find out that an alien threat has infected your crew! With its imitation skills, it can become any crew member, making every decision potentially life-threatening!
Will you be able to survive this deep space threat?
#50 Dragonkin: The Banished
Imagine a world where you’re not just occasionally fighting dragons, but dragons are your main enemy. Their influence over the world is so great that they’ve actually stained the very soil with their blood, which has led to numerous monsters coming into play.
You are one of four heroes that are attempting to take back your world, and to do so, you’ll need to take on the Dragon Lords themselves! Each class of character has special skills and abilities that can be used to take the fight to the dragons. Pick the one best suited for your playstyle and make the dragons rue the day they came to your world!
#49 Dynasty Warriors Origins
One of the ironies of this franchise is that you might be playing it alone more times than not, but you’ll feel like you’re wiping out people left and right…because that’s exactly what you do in the game! This is the franchise that famously created the 1v1000 gameplay style that allows you to create havoc on the battlefield with your impressive skills and weapons.
In Dynasty Warriors Origins, the team behind the franchise is taking things back to the literal beginning, allowing you to become the “nameless hero” who once saved the Three Kingdoms. Learn the hero’s story while also having fun guiding allies and defeating enemies by the dozens!
#48 ExeKiller
When the world itself is broken, and you’re desperate to just get through it, you might turn to certain things and not ask questions about why you do them. That is the case with the man known as ExeKiller, who is a bounty hunter for a corporation in this post-apocalyptic world. He did his job without question for many years, and then, a certain truth puts everything into perspective and leads him down a much different path.
Where that path leads is up to you. You’ll work your way through this barren world and seek out what you need. Just know that there are plenty of fights awaiting you on this journey to truth.
#47 Exoborne
To shake things up on the “oh, we’re so screwed” front, why don’t we show you a post-apocalyptic world where it’s the weather you have to fear? In Exoborne, you’ll be part of a world where the weather got so extreme that it tore up the United States, and trying to survive here is about having the right weapons and supplies to make it to the next day.
You are part a group who is trying to make it through in this place, and that means going up against numerous factions to get more materials so you can endure the terrors that are all around you.
#46 Ferocious
Look, we get it. There are plenty of things you’ve possibly dreamed about shooting at in the fantastical sense, but you’ll never get the chance because they’re not around! You know, like dinosaurs. But in games likeFerocious, you’re going to get your chance!
In the title, you were on a ship that crashed upon a mysterious island full of dinosaurs and other threats!
There’s something very odd about this island outside of its “wildlife,” and you’ll need to go deeper and deeper into the island’s core to find out what! But with so much danger around you, can you survive it all?
#45 The First Berserker: Khazan
There are many tales of heroes who reach the pinnacle of their power and fame, only to be struck down by someone they didn’t expect. In The First Berserker: Khazan, you’ll experience that very story through the eyes of Khazan. He was a powerful warrior who gave his all for his country, only for those who led the nation to betray him for unknown reasons.
Now, cast into exile, you’ll slowly start your march back to your former homeland and see how quickly you can unravel this conspiracy. Unleash your fury and berserker power to show why they should’ve never broken your trust and why you aren’t one who can be put down so easily.
#44 Frostpunk 2
Do you feel the cold? For the last remnants of humanity, the cold is all they have known for a long time. The world has frozen over, and there is but one city remaining where life can be grown. You have become the steward of that city, and it’s now your job to see its people live to see another day while also growing what you have.
The choices you make will be numerous in this strategy title, and there are people on all sides who wish to influence what path you take. Listen to them all, or pick the ones you feel will help you accomplish your personal goals.
Their lives are in your hands.
#43 Gothic 1 Remake
The Gothic franchise is actually a bit bigger than most people remember. But the key thing here is that the games have been deep and full of story and fun to be had.
Now, a new studio has been made with the express purpose to go and make a Gothic 1 Remake and design it to be both completely modern, and yet one that adheres to what is the original game. We’ve seen a lot of remakes as of late, and some of them do indeed push the games beyond what they were before.
So, can this one live up to the hype? We’ll have to wait and see!
#42 Hell is Us
A civil war is consuming your country, but that is just the beginning of everything that is going on in Hell is Us. You see, there is something…else…going on. There are beings popping up that can withstand your modern weapons, so you must be careful with how you confront them.
The game puts a heavy emphasis on exploration, and that means you’ll have to wander through dark areas to see what lurks within. You’ll have no guide outside of your intuition. So let’s hope that doesn’t get you killed!
What is the truth behind these chimeras? Will you even live long enough to find out?
#41 Hollow Knight: Silksong
We all know you want a right and true update on this game, regardless of the system you play it on. Sadly…we don’t have it.
This game has been talked about by fans for a LONG time, simply because we know it’s been in development for years, it’s following up one of the best Metroidvania games ever created, and fans have wanted it for a long time.
Whenever it does release, it’ll be one that gives fans not only a new knight to play with but a new world to explore and new adventures to be had. We just have to keep being patient until it’s out.
#40 Jurassic Park: Survival
There are plenty of video games that put you up against dinosaurs, but Jurassic Park: Survival does it in a way that truly will make you fear terror and make you wonder if you’ll get out there alive. In the game, you play an InGen scientist who was trapped on Isla Nublar during the events of the first movie and wasn’t able to get out when the first rescue happened.
On her own, she’ll have to travel around the island to see if there is any way out that doesn’t evolve getting eaten by dinosaurs! Be wary of every step you take, as you never know what might be out there waiting for you.
#39 Judas
When your world is literally falling apart around you, and it’s your fault, how far will you go to fix it? Or will you attempt to do it all alone to get out alive?
InJudas, you’ll play someone onboard a rapidly breaking starship. A plan is in place to get out alive, but you’ll need to work with others who are your enemies to get it done. So, what path will you choose? Will you work with them and hope you can get out safely?
Or will you betray them and ensure your survival above all else? The choice is yours.
#38 Killing Floor 3
InKilling Floor 3, the whole point is seriously about just blowing up a bunch of monsters to “save the world.” Will you really save the world? It doesn’t really matter, as it’s all about taking out untold waves of monsters and smiling as you do it. It’s the simple things in life that make you happy, you know?
Furthermore, this is a co-op title, so you’ll have the chance to take on all sorts of monsters with friends watching your back, making the experience even more awesome.
#37 Little Nightmares III
That’s right! The beloved horror series is back! This time around, the dark journey through another mysterious world will have you playing as Low & Alone. They are trapped in a place called Nowhere, and they must work together to figure out a path out!
But as they go through the unique entity called The Spiral, they’ll have to face various illusions, monsters, and terrors. Plus, something out there is coming for the two of them! Can they make it out alive? Will they learn even darker truths as they go on? You’ll have to dive in and find out!
#36 Mafia: The Old Country
While we don’t know too much about Mafia: The Old Country, including the gameplay that the title will have, we can reflect on the previous games in the franchise to highlight what is likely coming.
What we do know about the title is it’ll be set in Italy, long before the gangs of yore and lore were able to crossover into the “New World.” That means you’ll be there at the beginning when some of the legendary crime families were born and had to deal with their rivals the old-fashioned way.
You’ll likely start as a low-ranking member of a family and work your way up through it. So, be ready to do what you need to for the family.
#35 Mouse: P.I. for Hire
Don’t panic because of the image that you just saw. Mouse: P.I. for Hire is intentionally a game that puts itself in the “rubber hose cartoon” style of decades past. That’s one of the things that helps separate this shooter from the others on this list, not to mention numerous other games in general.
Anyway, in the game, you’ll play a P.I. who has to go up against numerous shady characters to help someone in need. Everything about the game is animated to feel like an old-school cartoon, just with some extra violence tacked onto it.
If you’re feeling the need for some nostalgia, this is the game for you.
#34 NEO BERLIN 2087
There are some days when you just want to do the job and move on. But sometimes, the job throws something at you that you can’t expect, leading you to learn that the job isn’t what it was supposed to be. InNEO BERLIN 2087,you’ll play a detective who is trying to find the killer of his chief.
There are multiple problems with that plan, though. First, the only clue is the chief’s daughter, and she’s missing. Second, when you do find her, you’ll discover a vast conspiracy trying to take you two out. And finally, the city itself isn’t safe, and you’ll need to work your way through and outside it just to stay alive.
#33 The Occultist
You are Alan Rebels, an occultist with unique abilities who is on a mission to learn the truth about his father’s disappearance. However, the place he must go to is the one place his father never wanted him to enter: The Godstone. His father grew up there but never went himself until he had no choice, and soon, he’ll wish he had never gone at all.
For while Alan wields a mystical pendulum that allows him to see things beyond the human world, there are dangers in using this kind of power. Wield it wisely, or be threatened by the very spirits you’re using to your advantage.
#32 Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 brings a new storyline that goes alongside the one from 2013’s Path of Exile. This new seven-act storyline leads to the same Atlas endgame as the original opus but brings new mechanics and enhancements to the original game.
This new game is set 20 years after the previous one. Society has been slowly rebuilding after the death of Kitava, but the thirst for power of some greedy persons began to corrupt Wraeclast once again. Path of Exile 2 features 19 new classes, a new Skill Gem system, a brand new range of equipment, as well as various improvements to the core system of the game.
#31 Pragmata
We honestly don’t know that much about the title, including the various aliens we’re going to interact with. We know it’s coming to PlayStation 5 and will feature a “unique relationship” between an astronaut and a little girl, but it’s very unclear what else will happen in the title.
Capcom is making the game, and it definitely feels like something they would make, given the shots we’ve seen. The title promises “profound storytelling” and fun gameplay similar to other titles in their arsenals, but we don’t know when it will arrive or when we’ll hear more about it. So enjoy what you have for the time being.
#30 Prison Architect 2
It’s fair to say that you don’t all think about prison that much. However, have you ever wondered what it would be like to build and RUN a prison? If you think you’re up to that challenge, you’ll want to try out Prison Architect 2. The game is exactly what it sounds like. You’ll start off with building a prison, then slowly work to grow and improve it so that the inmates are fairly taken care of, while also not getting the opportunity to escape.
Yes, the escapes that the inmates plan are a key part of the game. They want to get out, and you have to ensure they don’t.
#29 The Relic: First Guardian
The land you once called home is not what it used to be. The great relic that protected the land was destroyed, and through that act, darkness swept over the land and its people, thrusting them both into the void. You are the last hope to bring back what was lost. As its guardian, you must seek out the shattered pieces of the relic and bring them back together so that peace and light can once again endure.
With a unique character crafting system, you’ll use runes to increase your character’s power. Build them the way you want so that your homeland may return to what it once was.
#28 ROUTINE
So, picture this. In an alternate version of our world, we actually get a base on the moon, and it’s actually a pretty nice place to live. Well, for a time, it is, at least. In ROUTINE, you are sent to that lunar base when the whole place suddenly goes quiet, and your job is to figure out why everything went dark.
However, when you arrive, not only do you find no one around, but you are also being stalked by a being who thinks you are the true monster in this place. Flee for your life when it approaches, and attempt to figure out how everything went so wrong in this place.
#27 The Sinking City 2
If you’re familiar with the original game in this series, you’ll be prepared for what’s coming in The Sinking City 2. You’ll brave the depths and decrepit nature of Arkham, a city full of monsters and secrets that you need to unravel as best you can.
Oh, but there’s more than just monsters within this place. The people here are just as dangerous as they worship the occult and want nothing more than to let the monsters win. Wield numerous weapons of a magical nature and good old engineering to take them down and not let the city consume you, too.
Thanks to Unreal Engine 5, the game looks better than ever before.
#26 South of Midnight
Mythology is something that has driven numerous games to great success, and South of Midnight is hoping to bank on that, albeit with a much different mythos than you would predict. In the game, you’ll be in the American Deep South, where a woman named Hazel is tasked with fixing the evil that has come across the land and ruined her home.
As a weaver, she’ll have to deal with both the environment and the various spirits that inhabit it to see what can be done. Along the way, she’ll learn more about her family’s history and how it’s tied to the area she’s in.
#25 Splitgate 2
Splitgate 2 is the perfect kind of shooter title if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush and something fun to do with friends. It takes the idea of portal creation and turns it into a sport that fans of this game world can’t get enough of. You’ll start out as a 4v4 crew, trying to take down other teams that you come across within the sport.
However, the game lets you know that your ultimate goal is to be the best singular player in this event, which means you’ll have to “turn it up” if you want to get those accolades. Think you can make it happen?
#24 State of Decay 3
Now, here’s a game that was dormant for quite some time and only popped up again recently. State of Decay 3 will continue the gameplay style of the previous entry, where you’ll be set in a world full of zombie threats and terrors, and you’re part of the crew trying to survive it. The good news is that you’re not alone. You’ll have a group or community at your back to help you work through this post-apocalyptic world and attempt to make a working community.
The bad news is that here, death is permanent. So, if you make a wrong move or send the wrong person out for a task, it could end badly.
#23 Terminator: Survivors
Judgment Day may be inevitable, but survival is something that you have to put in your own hands. In Terminator: Survivors, you’ll be the head of a group of people who were able to survive the nuclear devastation that Skynet caused. With the Terminators up and about, seeking all humans so that they can be killed, you’ll have to be smart about every move you take, while also trying to do right by the group in your care.
You’ll travel through this new wasteland of a world to try and get weapons, supplies, and shelter. But the question remains, can one live in a world where monsters made of metal are relentlessly hunting you down?
#22 Titan Quest II
Have you ever wanted to become a “Greek legend” and show your skills against the gods themselves? In Titan Quest II, you’ll get that chance! The corrupt goddess Nemesis is on a rampage and is using the mighty Thread of Fate to doom her opposers. By the way, YOU are one of her opposers!
As you travel against a special version of Greece, you’ll take on monsters big and small and will have to prove yourself worthy of the fight. There are numerous ways to take on this world, and there are many secrets to be found if you know where to look. Seek out the best path forward, and save the day!
#21 Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
They say being a vampire sucks. But you don’t seem to mind that drawback when you’re a vampire.
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the story continues from past titles, and you’ll once again be put to the test as you try to navigate vampire society while also attempting to keep the peace with humans. A war is seemingly on the horizon, and your actions can directly affect that. But how will you choose to handle it? That is up to you.
Will you be the wise Elder Vampire and use your wits and cunning to keep things rolling? Or will you choose a side and let war happen? You’ll find out soon.
#20 Wreckfest 2
While it’s fair that most racing games are indeed “about the racing,” there are some who simply want to make races that have crashes so intense you’ll think they’re fake, even when they aren’t. Wreckfest 2 is one such title, as the team at Bugbear went full tilt to create not only an intense racing experience but a physics engine that would accurately render any and all damage that is done from one vehicle to another.
That means that half the fun of the game is seeing how big you can go with the crashes! So, yeah, you’ll not get bored with this title anytime soon.
#19 WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers
Welcome to the Ming Dynasty! This period of history was known for many things, but in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, you’ll get an alternative look at how things might have gone down. For example, the land has been infected with a plague, and that plague is causing people to turn into monsters.
That’s where you come in. You’re a “pirate warrior” who has lost her memories and must go through the land of Shu to regain them and figure out who you truly are. The twist is that you also have the disease that is creating the monsters within you. Use it to your advantage to unlock new powers and lay waste to those in front of you.
#18 Avowed
While it may not sound like it, or look at it given its first-person perspective, Avowed is set in the realm of Pillars of Eternity, and that makes it all the more intriguing to fans of the franchise.
However, the new “focus” if you will is apparently making this game more to something like the Elder Scrolls as you’ll be dealing with magic and swordplay in the first-person perspective. Something that is very different from the Pillars of Eternity Games.
The first trailer for the game hints at many things, including dark forces brought to life by unnatural means, a former member of royalty trying to get back the crown, and more. We’ll have to wait for more details though.
#17 Battlefield 7
Let’s go to war now with Battlefield 7. The irony here is that we don’t actually know much about the game yet. We know it’s been announced and that EA is aiming to push it to “new heights,” which is what they say about every new game in the series, and that multiplayer will be important. That’s not a surprise either, as the games that came before sometimes revolved more around the multiplayer than anything else. That is its M.O. in many respects.
That being said, EA hasn’t always been good on living up to its own hype, especially with its FPS series. So, you might want to keep expectations in check for this one.
#16 Borderlands 4
How would you define the Borderlands saga? You could easily say it’s a franchise that LOVES being a shooter so much that it gives players millions upon millions of gun options to choose from, all so that they can have the best weapons possible to deal with the numerous enemies they come across. Oh, and you’ll have plenty of enemies to deal with in this next game.
While we don’t know who those enemies are in Borderlands 4. However, we have heard from Gearbox Software that it’ll be a graver threat than anything you’ve witnessed before. Thus, once again, there ain’t no rest for the wicked.
#15 Doom: The Dark Ages
Doom: The Dark Ages is a fun twist on the formula that Bethesda has been using since the reboot in 2016, as it’s not set in the far future where humanity keeps getting involved with the underworld. Instead, it takes place in the past, where we’ll uncover the official history of the Doomslayer! Oh yeah, this will be good.
Just as important, because of its setting, you’ll get all-new weapons to dice up enemies and show them why you’re the slayer you don’t mess with. Good times, everybody!

#13 Dying Light: The Beast

#12 Fable
Are you ready for an adventure where you get to determine who you become? The Fable franchise as a whole has mostly been based around this concept, and the upcoming reboot aims to fulfill much of what those original titles intended to do without making the same mistakes.
While details are still a bit scarce, we know that it will follow the RPG theme of building your character from scratch and then guiding them on a quest through a fantasy realm. You’ll fight giants, former heroes, and more on your quest to become what you feel is best.
Be who you want to be, and see how that works out for you.

#9 Perfect Dark
Now, here’s a title that many have been wanting to see for a while. Perfect Dark is the reboot of the classic N64 franchise, and that means Johanna Dark is back to try to save the world from incredible threats.
While details about the game are still a little light, the trailer that dropped earlier in 2024 does point to the game being at least visually stunning. Of course, there are still question marks about quality, especially since there have been many reports about the “issues” the game has undergone to this point.
However, if it has all worked out? Then power to them.
#8 Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest version of Capcom’s beloved monster-killing series, and it’s only getting bigger and better with improved graphics and gameplay mechanics.

#7 Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
Next up, we haveSid Meier’s Civilization VII, a title that honestly doesn’t need much of an introduction due to how it’s been keeping people occupied for a long time with its world-building gameplay.
We mean that literally. For 20+ years, this franchise has been one of the best worldbuilding titles mixed with strategy elements ever. While it naturally had its highs and lows, the game reinvented itself once again with its 6th entry and blew people away with how great it was. So now imagine how far they’ll go for the 7th entry.
They know fans really want to enjoy this entry, as they did with the last one, so expect some fun additions and changes here.
#6 Assassin’s Creed Shadows

While the game hasn’t had the smoothest development cycle, many hope that things will change for the better with this delay in release.
#5 Witcher Remake
Are you ready to become Geralt of Rivia once again? One of the ironies of the trilogy from CD Projekt Red is that the first game, and technically the second, depending on who you talk to, very much flew under the radar of most people. One of the reasons is likely due to the technology of the time and the game not “feeling what it could be,” which obviously was rectified in the third entry.
However, withThe Witcher Remakethat the developer has confirmed, you’ll get a new chance to be Geralt again while also taking on his first adventure in a new light. Hope you got enough potions!
#4 The Outer Worlds 2
When Obsidian Entertainment decided to take things to the stars for a unique RPG adventure, they absolutely delivered. They gave fans a fun, immersive, variety-filled campaign that took them to numerous worlds and areas they couldn’t even have dreamed of before. And now, they’re doing it again withThe Outer Worlds 2.
While plenty of details are still unknown, we do know that the game will be set in a new star system with new planets and a new cast of characters. That means you won’t be able to expect what’s coming. That’s a good thing, though! After all, Obsidian knows how to make RPGs, so it’s unlikely they’ll disappoint here.
#3 Mass Effect 5
To be blunt, Bioware has seen better days. Even with a certain recent release, people aren’t sold that the company is “back to where it needs to be” quality-wise.
However, withMass Effect 5,many truly hope things are about to turn around. After the disaster of the 4th title, Bioware has promised a “return to form” that gamers can enjoy.
Of course, we’ve heard such promises before from various development teams, including Bioware. We’ve only gotten the smallest of teases about this game, and it’s not even confirmed to be coming out in 2025! Yet, we’ll keep hoping…for now…
This next entry is a bit tricky to talk about. On one hand, we know that this franchise isn’t going anywhere for multiple reasons. Not the least is that Hideo Kojima isn’t coming back to Konami, and the company’s last attempt to “continue the series” was a disaster.
However,Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterdoes seem to be a faithful remaster/remake of the original PS2 title that many consider the best game in the series. So, for those who have never experienced it before or those who simply want to enjoy the game with next-gen graphics, this will be something to check out.
