When estranged siblings Joseph (Adam David Thompson) and Sidney (Riley Dandy) rendezvous at a local diner after a close-call robbery, they hightail it to an abandoned farmhouse that transports them to a different time in order to escape the law. Their getaway is derailed when an unknown and cryptic metaphysical force emerges and blocks them from returning home. Trapped on the puzzling plot of land, their captor makes it clear that no one can leave until their deadly demands are met. What results from their entrapment not only bends the forces of spacetime--forcing the two to question everything they know about their own reality--but pushes their familial bonds to the breaking point.

Things Will Be Different | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com Thompson and Dandy are outstanding physical actors, not just in scenes of hand-to-hand combat and gunplay but in quiet moments where they eat a meal or talk about their pasts. Rated: 2/5 Oct 5, 2024 Full Review Things Will Be Different | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Carlos Aguilar Variety Even if the balance between the high concept and the human component falters at times, Things Will Be Different is an auspicious effort to amalgamate what touches the heart and what tickles the brain. Wes W This is not a horror movie. Yet, it is listed as one. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review john r A miracle of an indie film. So well executed, and such a fun watch. Highly recommend! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Sarfaraz A Adam David Thompson and Riley Dandy feature in Michael Felker's science-fiction time-travel film, which is also his directorial debut. The film is about two siblings, a brother and sister, who are at a diner while armed with assault rifles and a stash of millions of dollars when they hear the police siren and flee to a secluded farmhouse, where they have a safe closet with a secret code that may send them back in time to stay low for a while. They are intended to stay for a fortnight, but on the 14th day, they are warned that they must ambush an intruder who is about to wipe them both, and that his or her details must be shared in exchange for the siblings' safe return. The movie has received a slew of positive reviews. I was hoping for more entertainment, but it failed to provide answers. Why are siblings stealing so much money, and from whom? After more than an hour, the film progressed more exciting when the intruder ran into one of the siblings. Between the beginning and the end, time-travel was used, while the middle of the movie was all about thrills and suspense. Many reviews applauded the film's story with its minimal budget. But I've seen better time-travel movies. Nicholas Meyer's "Time After Time 1979", starring Malcolm McDowell, is a fantastic time-travel science-fiction thriller in which H. G. Wells uses his machine to track down Jack the Ripper. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review Aldis H The explanations given are a bunch of artsy double speak that makes no sense. It's ridiculously slow as well. Could have been good with some tweaks and someone who understands pacing. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Raechel A This was an outstanding movie. Well directed and acted with good pace. There is a great twist in the end. You'll want to watch it again to pick up on the nuanced clues. I can't wait to see what the Director (Felker) will do next. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Stoner J Awesome time bending thriller! I can’t stand Benson and Moorhead directed movies they’re always so convoluted and impossible to understand not to mention long and boring, glad they stuck to just executive producing. This new director Felker killed it! Loved the oldies soundtrack and the directing, this reminded me of bad times at the el royale only sci-fi. The only criticism I have is they should have explained two things in the very beginning, the robbery which we know nothing of until we see a bag of money half way through, and no explanation in the beginning of this time travel house loaned to them with this spell book of sorts so when they suddenly go there it’s like, what the hell is going on. Also, we have no clue who Stephanie is by the time the credits role so the ending didn’t make a lot of sense until I looked it up and it’s her daughter who was the mysterious intruder looking for revenge. But overall, a really good time travel thriller! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
