Who is Danny Ramirez?
American actor, screenwriter and producer Danny Ramirez was born in Chicago, Illinois USA, on 17 September 1992, making Virgo his zodiac sign. He has 25 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing Diamond in the 2018 action crime comedy movie “Assassination Nation”, which starred Odessa Young and Abra, and was written and directed by Sam Levinson. It follows a data leak which has led to four girls fighting to survive in the American city Salem, and the film won one of its five award nominations.
Danny’s currently working on several upcoming projects, including the movies “Captain America: Brave New World” and “Winner”.
Education and early life
Danny was raised in Miami, Florida alongside his sister, by their Colombian father and Mexican mother; he hasn’t shared many other details about his family, as they prefer to stay away from media.
Danny studied at Miami Coral Park Senior High School and was mostly into sports during his time there, playing both soccer and football for school teams; he eventually suffered an injury which made it impossible for him to pursue a career as an athlete.
Danny matriculated in 2011, and then enrolled at New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2014.
Roles in TV series
Danny’s debut TV series role was playing Moving Van Kid in a 2015 episode of the drama “The Affair”, and he was then cast to portray Panicked Student in the 2016 episode “In the Comet of Us” of the crime action “Blindspot” and Paolo in the 2017 episode “Tied to the Tracks” of the crime comedy “Orange Is the New Black”.
In 2017 and 2018, he played Wes in three episodes of the popular fantasy action “The Gifted”, which starred Amy Acker and Stephen Moyer, and was created by Matt Nix. It follows an institution for mutants as its trying to achieve peace between normal humans and mutated humans; the series aired from 2017 through 2019 and was nominated for two awards.
In 2018 and 2019, Danny played Mario Martinez in four episodes of the comedy “On My Block”, which starred Sierra Capri and Jason Genao, and was created by Jeremy Haft and Eddie Gonzalez. It follows four friends as they’re attending a high school in South Central Los Angeles – the series won one of its 10 award nominations.

Danny’s appeared in only two more TV series: he portrayed Joaquin Torres in all six episodes of the 2021 action adventure mini-series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, which won two of its 42 award nominations, and Eric in the 2022 episode “La Dona” of the fantasy horror “Tales of the Walking Dead”.
Roles in movies
Danny’s debut film role was playing Miles Franco in the 2018 short drama “One More”, and the following year saw him play Rodrigo in the horror thriller comedy “Tone-Deaf”, which starred Ray Wise and Kim Delaney, and was written and directed by Richard Bates Jr. It follows a woman who’s rented a country house from a widower, wanting to spend some peaceful time after losing her job and breaking up with her boyfriend, and the film was nominated for two awards.
The year 2019 saw Danny appear in three movies: the drama “Lost Transmissions”, the crime mystery thriller “The Giant” and the thriller “Silo”. In 2020, he portrayed Chip in the romantic musical comedy “Valley Girl”, which starred Jessica Rothe and Josh Whitehouse, and was directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg. It follows two young lovers whose parents don’t want them to date, and the film won a 2021 ReFrame Stamp for Narrative & Animated Feature.
Danny could then have been seen appearing in the 2021 short action comedy “After Hours”, the 2021 war drama “This Is Not a War Story”, and the critically acclaimed 2022 mystery thriller “No Exit”, which won one of its two award nominations.
The year 2022 also saw him portray Lieutenant Mickey ‘Fanboy’ Garcia in the hit action “Top Gun: Maverick”, which starred Tom Cruise and won 93 of its 307 award nominations, including an Oscar win for Best Sound.
Some of Danny’s most recent film roles have been in the 2022 mystery thriller “Root Letter”, the 2022 romantic comedy “Look Both Ways”, and the 2023 drama “Chestnut”.
Other credits
Danny directed the 2020 short film “Gucci Guilty: Recuerdo”.

Danny’s been successful at keeping the details regarding his love life away from the media’s attention, and hasn’t shared the names of the women, or perhaps men whom he’s dated.
Some of Danny’s fans believe that he’s gay, and that this is why he’s yet to speak about his love life in public; there’s a rumor circulating the internet, claiming that Danny’s been seen spending time with his boyfriend in Miami, but this is yet to be confirmed.
There are also those who believe that he’s currently focused on his career, and isn’t pursuing love, but Danny hasn’t addressed this either.
He seems to be unattached as of June 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
